The Tinkerbell Effect is a beautiful reminder that belief has the power to shape reality. It’s based on the idea that the more you believe in something, the more it becomes true—just like in Peter Pan, when Tinkerbell’s life depends on the audience believing in fairies. The same goes for your dreams: the more you believe, the more you act, and the more they come alive.

The first step? Get specific. What exactly do you want? Visualise it like a seed—your dream is that seed. You need to plant it with intention and then nurture it with consistent action, energy, and belief. Even before you see any result, keep feeding it with imagination. Picture how it will look, how it will feel, what it will sound and smell like. Let every sense be involved in its creation.

And when doubt starts to creep in—because it will—shift your language. Instead of thinking, “What if it doesn’t happen?”, ask, “What if it does?” What if today is the day it all changes? What if the opportunity arrives, the person walks into your life, or the door opens?

If you truly believed your dream was coming, how would you show up today? What would you wear? How would you speak? How would you move through the world? Start being that version of yourself now. That’s where the magic lies.

This idea isn’t just whimsical thinking—it’s rooted in faith. I recently stayed at a hotel where 20-foot bamboo shoots lined the entire space. I asked the owner how long they took to grow, and he said they had to water the soil every day for three years before even one shoot appeared. Imagine that level of belief: caring for something you can’t yet see, but trusting it’s coming.

So, if life really is a story—why not choose to believe in fairy tales? The moment you do, your dream begins to take root.
